CURATOR POSITION AT THE LYNN MUSEUM & HISTORICAL SOCIETY

 

The Lynn Museum & Historical Society on the north shore of Boston, seeks an energetic, creative person to be responsible for a collection of 12-15,000 artifacts relating to the history of Lynn from 1629 to the present, including decorative arts, paintings, textiles, and tools and machinery relating to Lynn’s former shoe industry.

Curator is responsible for producing and installing two to three exhibitions a year.  Curator also assists director a needed, promotes museum through public speaking, and occasionally delivers programs to both adult and youth; must have superior organizational skills as museum is relocating its operations and curator must pack and oversee move of collections.

The Lynn Museum offers a wide range of programs and publication and is striving to increase its involvement with Lynn’s ethnically diverse immigrant population.
