Absolutely. It is definitely something that not only can but certainly should be taught in philosophy/religion/social history classes. It just should not be used as any sort of counterpoint to evolution or anything else scientific for that matter. I like to remind people that this controversy is not about evolution or even science. It is about telling other people what they should believe, and what is right and wrong. Getting ID taught in schools in conjunction with science is only the first step, and not even the one that will do the most damage to our society. The ID philosophy can be applied to anything they want to undermine, and if the crusade against rational science is successful, then we will see far more intrusive inroads in the future. That is of course simply my personal opinion. Mark Janzen Registrar/Collections Manager Edwin A. Ulrich Museum of Art Martin H. ID, might be an appropriate topic for a class in philosophy, but clearly doesn't fall within the realm of a science course. --- Mark Janzen <[log in to unmask]> wrote: > Thanks Indigo, > > Certainly no one should be surprised by that bit of > scientific > misunderstanding from our commander in chief.
