Heritage Coordinator
Queen Anne's County Department of Parks and Recreation

The Queen Anne's County Department of Parks and Recreation, located on
the Eastern Shore of the Chesapeake Bay, is seeking a full-time Heritage
Coordinator. The incumbent will coordinate, implement and oversee
projects and initiatives in relation to the Queen Anne's County Historic
Sites Consortium. The Heritage Coordinator will be responsible for
increasing awareness of the County's historical sites, promoting
cultural heritage and managing the functionality and accessibility of
historic sites. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited
to: oversight of an interpretive exhibit with loaned collections;
running of the Consortium, including coordinating events, writing
grants, providing professional guidance and holding monthly board
meetings; and reviewing demolition permits and subdivision plans that
impact historical resources and documenting threatened resources. 

Requirements: Candidates must have a BA with major coursework in museum
studies, historic preservation, anthropology or a related field. Minimum
of 5 years of related experience required. Experience in administration
and/or historic preservation is preferred. The successful candidate must
have excellent communication and computer skills. Must be
detail-oriented, flexible with an ability to work with a diverse range
of individuals and groups, and able to effectively manage multiple
projects simultaneously.
