related field with a minimum of three to four years experience in museum
registration. Demonstrated proficiency in current registration practices is
necessary. Extensive knowledge of professional art handling techniques, packing,
crating, shipping, general exhibition logistics along with an understanding of

Summary: Assists
in all aspects of registration which includes supervision and maintenance of
permanent collection and object records (manual and electronic), new
acquisitions, administers traveling / temporary exhibitions and loans, condition
reporting, coordinating logistics for packing, crating, shipping,
installation/de-installation, tracking object movement and location, maintaining
exhibition records, assists with collection inventory and related documentation,
monitors department budget, prepares purchase orders, provides access and escort
to permanent collection, performs other related duties and projects as assigned
or requested.
Departmental
Preference: Self-motivated,
detail-oriented, flexible in multi-tasking with ability to analyze and solve
problems are essential. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, oral, and
written communication skills are critical. Ability to work independently with
accuracy and minimal guidance preferred. Patience, persistence, and ability to
work with others in good humor are desirable.
Strong computer skills are a must including electronic database
management experience and a cognitive understanding of Microsoft® software
applications. Knowledge of digital camera, equipment, software, the digitization
process and metadata is an advantage.
