Merchant's House Museum Director of Programs/Administrator Full-time Position The Director of Programs acts as the chief coordinator of Museum programs and daily operations. S/He reports directly to the Executive Director, who sets priorities for the Museum in line with policies instituted by the Board of Directors. Duties and Responsibilities. Membership Program. Manages membership database (Donor Perfect Fundraising Software); coordinates solicitations, acknowledgments, and renewals in conjunction with development staff. Education Programs and Special Events. Schedules volunteers and helps coordinate programs and events that take place in the Museum, including weekend and group tours for adults and schoolchildren, lectures, workshops, benefits, and space rentals. Oversees volunteer training. Operations. Provides administrative support to the Executive Director in all aspects of daily office and museum operations, including maintaining data bases; overseeing mailings of appeals and quarterly newsletter; fielding phone calls and inquiries, maintaining office equipment and ordering supplies; filing; opening and closing the house for tours and programs, and special projects. Qualifications. Superior organizational and communication skills, high energy, and an extraordinary sense of humor. Computer savvy. Experience in museum administration preferred; experience with Donor Perfect or other donor management software a plus. Salary. Commensurate with experience.
