Summer Internship Opportunities at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum
The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum is a non-profit educational institution, the mission of which is to honor our nation’s heroes, educate the public, & inspire youth about the price of freedom. The Intrepid is a World War II-era aircraft carrier which has had an extensive & distinguished career. The USS Intrepid served in the Pacific Theater during World War II, through the Cold War as a NASA recovery vessel, as “Best Ship in the Fleet” during its third tour of duty in the Vietnam War, & as an educational institution & tourist attraction at Pier 86 since 1982. Also on site are the Growler, a Cold War-era submarine, & the Alpha-Delta, a British Airways Concorde.

Title: Education: Registrar Intern
This internship will involve participation in the development, execution, management, coordination, oversight, and participation in all aspects of marketing, promotion, and sales of Intrepid Education programs, including developing marketing plans and materials, conducting off-site visits, and monitoring program revenues. Intern will spend time in Education and Marketing Departments to facilitate this.
Qualifications: Persons applying for this position should be familiar with creating and maintaining a cataloging system that would be conducive to the needs of the Education Department.
Employment Period: June- August 2005, minimum 16 per week. This internship will provide hands-on experience and is unpaid. Internship dates and hours are negotiable.
