Thanks to everyone for your information about Wentzscopes. We are going to
install them in our Children's Gallery once we receive funding. I may be
contacting some of you with more questions!

Thanks again and have a great day!

wentz scopes are great. they require a wee bit of periodic maintenance, but
used them for over 10 years and would highly recommmend. the maintenance is
the focus occasionally needs to be tweaked, which is no more difficult than
loosening a set screw, adjusting the lens position and retightening.

since they are (relatively) high powered, the only other problem was keeping
the slides in the correct plane of focus. we had mounted them on plex and
any slight warp in the plex would cause the slide to be out of range. also,
if the light stays on continually, it will bleach out any slide in a short
time. its easy to put a pushbutton, momentary on switch on top.

my only wish is that they were also available in a lower power, such as 2x
to 8x - more like a dissecting or inspection scope. (btw, have used the
inspection scopes as well and they are more difficult for the general public
to use.)

bud wentz is an incredibly nice and helpful vendor.

if its the right application i would highly recommend, but you don't say
what you're using it for.....if you can share that, there may be
alternatives.

Happy Monday, right!?!?
Does anyone out there have Wentzscopes at their facility? We are looking
into purchasing a few, but I have a list of questions before we make such a
big investment. You can reply directly to me at [log in to unmask] if you
would like.
Hope everyone is having a great day!
