Public Programs Coordinator.
Historic Brattonsville, a 775-acre historic site museum in York County, South Carolina
seeks an energetic team player to serve as Public Programs Coordinator to manage
the presentation of living history programs. Historic Brattonsville is one of
three York County Culture & Heritage Museums sites located within the Charlotte, NC
metropolitan region, population 1.7 million. The coordinator plans, develops,
presents, coordinates, and evaluates a wide variety of weekend living history
programs for public audiences related to the Colonial and Antebellum history of
the Carolina
piedmont. As such, the position frequently oversees volunteers, vendors,
reenactors, and artisans in the implementation of these programs. Programming
emphasis include the Revolutionary War, African American history, agricultural
and social history. The coordinator also participates in school programs,
presents tours, and performs staff and volunteer training as needed. Candidates
should have experience in developing, managing and presenting living history
programs, working with volunteers and should possess excellent speaking and
writing skills.
