1. Does the possible "donor" have legal papers showing what exactly he/she donated? 2. How do you know if he is not wanting things that were really never his/hers? 3. Did the "donor" make an earlier IRS tax claim on the items, now wants the items back? 4. Did the "donor" donate them or the family? If someone else donated them, he/she may not have a legal right to have them returned. 5. Have you talked to earlier staff members to see what happened to the original collection and donation files? Often they may be buried or walked off with earlier staff members....check around.
