Dear Listers:
The chair of the furnishings committee at one of
our historic sites is interested in providing some sort of protection for the
oriental rugs in high traffic areas of the house. These rugs are antique
or semi-antique, but not original to the house. We are particularly
interested in opinions and/or sources for the clear plastic (or vinyl?) runners
that are occasionally used in other historic house, but any other comments or
sources for appropriate supplies would be most welcome.
Obviously having visitors not step on the historic
carpets would be the best choice but, unfortunately, that is not an option in
this case.
Thanks in advance,
Catherine Dean
