COMING UP TALLER NOMINATIONS DUE MARCH 24

The President's Committee on the Arts and the Humanities (PCAH) is inviting
nominations for its 2005 Coming Up Taller Awards. Offered in partnership with IMLS,
the National Endowment for the Arts, and the National Endowment for the Humanities,
the Coming Up Taller Awards recognize the accomplishments of after-school and out-of-
school programs and activities across the country. The $10,000 Coming Up Taller
Awards assist organizations, further knowledge, and encourage development of future
programs.

At the 2004 Coming Up Taller Awards ceremony, First Lady Laura Bush remarked that
"the arts and humanities are critical building blocks for a child's development and they
provide a strong foundation for a lifetime of learning. ... The study of the arts and
humanities gives children the chance to be extraordinary-the power to be themselves."
For nomination forms, visit the Coming Up Taller Web site at www.cominguptaller.org,
or contact PCAH at 202-682-5409 for more information. A list of the 2004 winners can
also be found at the Coming Up Taller Web site.
