MS302: Fundraising for Collections Care
Instructor: Helen Alten
  Dates: March 7 - April 1, 2005
Price: $350

Can't see how you can implement collections preservation ideas when you
can't pay the light bill? Northern States Conservation Center's on-line
workshop Fundraising for Collections Care (MS302) introduces funding
options for a range of collections care needs. The class combines lecture
and practicum sessions. Students will learn about different forms of fund
raising, how to find funding sources for their institution, how to write
successful proposals and how to build on success. We will cover fund
drives, building a donor base, private foundations and government grants.
Each student will complete a draft grant request before the end of the
class. Although the emphasis is on collections care money sources, the
skills taught in this course translate to other fund raising projects.
