Details are at: http://tinyurl.com/65yct With best wishes to all, Pat Pat Reynolds Surrey Museums Development Officer Advert follows: Surrey County Council (on behalf of English Heritage and Surrey, East and West Sussex museum development services) Conservator 1 year, with the strong possibility of extension Surrey grade D (£19,122-£22,818) § Contribute to the management of diverse collections § Equip people with skills to enhance preservation For this role, you will need: § Conservation qualification and broad range of experience (preferably textiles, archaeology or social history) § Excellent administrative skills § The knowledge, enthusiasm and communication skills to convey the importance of the project to potential partners Work will include: § Survey and audit work § Providing advice to non-specialists § Leading strategic plan development § Drawing up tender documents for conservation work, and monitoring work/signing off. § Devising and delivering training Your work will be three days a week for English Heritage, two days a week for the museum development services. Line management will be by Pat Reynolds of Surrey Museums Consultative Committee (day to day direction for EH by Rowena Willard-Wright). You will work in the museum/stores in the south east (mileage allowance payable), and be based at home (for SMCC) and, preferably, Fort Brockhurst (for EH). Laptop computer will be provided.
