We are thinking about moving our database information from Access to
Filemaker Pro 7. Our collection is over 11,000 objects but we are going
to start with a pilot project of 500 objects to "see how it goes". Right
now our database is rather complex with many fields/forms but not user
friendly. I am the only one who can really manipulate retrieve data. I
have been told that after turning our Access files into Excel files
(which I have done before) that we "simply" dump them into Filemaker
Pro. That seems way too easy and I am a bit skeptical because I do not
have any experience with Filemaker Pro. I am wondering what
reservations others might have about this kind of data transfer or about
Filemaker Pro in general for the size of our growing collection. Any
input, positive or negative, about Filemaker Pro would be greatly
appreciated.
