I would certainly mention the yahoogroups.com listservs. Indigo manages several lists, and there are also the AASLH-sponsored lists, historichousemuseums and smallmuseums. There are others that are not specifically museum-related which might be equally valuable. For example, I found one this morning called "photohistory" which I immediately joined.
