Cincinnati Museum Center at Union Terminal is home to the Cincinnati History
Museum, Cinergy Children's Museum, the Museum of Natural History & Science,
the Robert D. Lindner Family OMNIMAX® Theater, and the Cincinnati Historical
Society Library. It is a nationally recognized educational and research
resource and one of the top cultural attractions in the Midwest. More than
one million people visit annually, reaching out to almost 200,000 young
people through hands-on exhibits and programming. As a center for the entire
community, more than 700 events are held in the building each year.
Originally built in 1933 as the Union Terminal train station, the building
is a national historic landmark and was renovated and re-opened as
Cincinnati Museum Center in 1990.

POSITION: ELCTRONICS TECHNICIAN - TRAVELING EXHBITS 

DEPARTMENT: EXHIBITS

RESPONSIBILITIES: Position will be the primary technician for Cincinnati
Museum Center's exhibits department for all computer, electronic and
electrical troubleshooting on existing exhibits, and design and
implementation for electronic components on new exhibits. 
The position is also one of two primary CMC staff to supervise installation
and de-installation of Cincinnati Museum Center produced traveling
exhibitions at other host locations. Candidate must be able to trouble-shoot
and fix any technical or cosmetic problems with these exhibits while on the
road. They must also coordinate shipping, set-up, take-down, refurbishment,
and travel logistics with host institutions, and as liaison between
Cincinnati Museum Center and host institutions, and provide customer service
and technical support once the exhibit is install at the host site. This
position also aids in the sales and support operations for the traveling
exhibits department. The position requires strong communication skills,
strong people skills, and strong organizational skills. There must be an
ability to self-motivate and work autonomously in this position. They must
be willing to travel 2-3 weeks a month for a total of 9-12 trips per year.

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree in a related field or a 2-year degree plus
3 years of work experience. A minimum of 1-2 years of experience with
exhibits, museums or other arts or theatre organization background
preferred. Computer and Electronic skills are needed-Mac and PC platforms
are used extensively, along with Audio Visual Equipment including digital
audio and video machines, digital projectors, digital cameras, and DVD
players. Knowledge of Flash Card Media, Video/DVD & Audio editing using a
PC, along with basic knowledge of the following programs: Vectorworks or
AutoCad, Quark Express, Photoshop/Illustrator, and Macromedia Flash
preferred. Also basic knowledge of MS Office. Basic low voltage and A/C
wiring skills needed. Basic carpentry skills and tool use required. A valid
driver's license is required. Fork-lift driving experience is a plus. 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Weekdays/8hours a day, except when travel is
involved for the set-up and take-down of CMC'S exhibits, or for sales at
professional conferences where weekend hours will be necessary. Must be able
to travel 2-3 weeks a month, 9-12 times per year (this is mandatory).

POSITION: Floor Specialist

DEPARTMENT: Visitor Services

RESPONSIBILITIES: Work one of three positions as assigned by the Manager on
duty:
Ticket Taking - Taking tickets, checking and counting members, assisting
visitors with special needs. Providing correct information and directions.
Information Specialist - Answering questions and providing correct and
up-to-date information about OMNIMAX films, exhibits, admissions and daily
activities. Selling memberships, handling WILL CALL, stroller and wheelchair
rentals. Answering incoming calls and providing accurate information.
Cashiering - Selling admissions to OMNIMAX Theater, Museums and Special
Exhibits/Programs using a computerized ticketing system. Collecting visitor
information. Balancing money drawer at the end of each shift.

QUALIFICATIONS: High school graduate or equivalent. Candidate must have
excellent verbal communication skills, customer service and cashiering
experience. Knowledge of ticketing systems is a plus. Qualified applicant
must have an outgoing personality and strong interpersonal skills. Applicant
must have the ability to perform well in a high-pressure situation and
should be physically able to assist in evacuating visitors in the event of
an emergency. Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings,
weekends and holidays. Must be at least 18 years of age.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Part time position, approximately 14-30 hours per
week. Premium wages paid on most holidays (closed Thanksgiving and
Christmas).

Grant Compliance Coordination: 
· Ensure implementation of foundation and government grants and
appropriations upon receipt.
· Interpret and ensure compliance with all Federal, State laws, regulations

· Manage the system of updating, cleaning and standardizing database.
· Create queries, lists and reports for development.

QUALIFICATIONS: 
Bachelor's degree required. Emphasis in Business Administration, Finance,
Accounting or Nonprofit Management preferred. Excellent organizational
skills and attention to detail. Experience with HUD funded projects,
Congressionally directed awards or sponsored programs administration
preferred. Experience with Microsoft Office applications required.
Experience with accounting software or the Raiser's Edge preferred. Skilled
in written and interpersonal communication. Ability to provide leadership
and direction in a diverse working environment. Supervisory experience
preferred.
