The Upper Midwest Conservation Association (UMCA) Presents the Workshop:
Writing Grants for Conservation Projects

March 17-18, 2005 at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts 2400 Third Avenue
South Minneapolis, MN 55404.

This workshop will provide instruction on how to write successful grants for
funding conservation projects. The goal is for every participant to develop
a complete grant proposal ready for submission to a funding agency. Learn
where and how to locate funding sources; how to understand conservation
grant protocol and the review process; how to conduct an internal review to
present your institution and collection as the best candidate for funding;
how to develop an achievable project; how to write a practical proposal; how
to write a realistic budget; options for raising "matching funds," and what
to do when you receive grant funding. Receive direct assistance on your
draft proposal from an experienced conservation grant writer both during and
after the workshop until your application is completed. This workshop will
take place from 10:00am to approximately 5:00pm each day.

The general cost of this workshop is $245 for two-days; with an UMCA
membership, the cost is $195.

New discounted fees are available to students and qualified institutions.
Qualified institutions with budgets at or below $50,000 need only notify
UMCA to receive a reduced fee of $75.00 per day or a further discounted fee
of $50.00 per day for UMCA members. Students receive a flat fee of $35.00
per day.
