ESSENTIAL
DUTIES: (NOTE: The duties listed
below are not inclusive of all of the duties that may be assigned to the
position but are considered as essential to the nature of the
job).
Serves on Exhibits Approval Panel. Assumes responsibility for all aspects of Visitor
Services initiative. Supervises and
develops mission-based programs and activities related to permanent galleries
and temporary exhibits. Supervises and coordinates scheduling,
presentation and content of all museum programs in conjunction with museum's
exhibition calendar, affiliated societies and seasonal celebrations. Coordinates all planning and implementation of museum
marketing and public relations associated with programs and assists director
with overall museum marketing and public relations. Works with volunteers and/or consultants to identify
and implement opportunities for volunteer participation and advancement and to
encourage and support volunteer leadership. Develops and implements evaluations tools for programs.
Writes program and activities promotional
materials and press releases which are coordinated with the museum's overall
marketing and development policies, procedures and standards. Keeps accurate financial records; develop departmental
budge and comply with budget.
MINIMUM EDUCATION &
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's Degree in education, history, art,
or related field and 1 year of experience in museum education or in a related
area. A Master's Degree may be substituted for the experience. Must have good
writing, communication, public speaking, and computer skills. Familiarity with
interpretive programming, teaching methods for a variety of learning styles, and
19th and 20th century American history and art preferred. An equivalent
combination of education and experience may be considered. The
candidate selected must undergo and pass a drug screening test prior to
employment.

TITLE: MUSEUM REGISTRAR (Position # AH5000)

Compiles and maintains legal documents including accession records, condition reports, conservation records, insurance policies and environmental records. Responsible for Integrated Pest Management implementation. Facilitates public access to collections in accordance with established policies. Maintains collections database projects including software, data standards and data entry. Assists curator in care and control of collections on and off-site. Assists curator with registration/collections management budget. Supervises interns and volunteers.
MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in History or Museum Studies or related field. Master's degree preferred. Formal course work in the area of Collections desired or other museum related experience. Must have knowledge of computers and the ability to manage data bases. The candidate selected must undergo and pass a drug screening test prior to employment.
MINIMUM PHYSICAL OR ABILITY REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to work varying work schedules. Physical ability to work from ladder and lift objects weighing up to 30 pounds to/from overhead.
