Director of Special Events, Decatur House

Job Summary

Solely responsible for all business and sales activities involved in the
Carriage House Site Rental Program, which books between 80 and 90 events
per year, as well as for all museum events such as exhibit openings,
holiday parties, and board functions and meetings. Duties include
developing an annual budget, writing client contracts, tracking
accounting, issuing invoices, setting price structure, conducting market
and competitive research , writing RFPs, negotiating contracts,
coordinating vendors, and managing on-site staff and customer service.

Qualifications

3-5 years experience working in the event industry. B.A., preferably in
marketing or hospitality industry management; experience working in a
historic site, museum, or non-profit environment a plus, as is managing
people and budgets.
