To all, I have listened with interest for the past few weeks to the issues (some expected, some. odd) that come across in the museum field. Obviously there isn't a text that can cover every eventuality, but tell me, is there a book that can help me in my studies? Here's the situation. I'm a History student at Guilford College in North Carolina, and while the college does not have a museum studies program, I do have an impending internship at a local museum. I'm pursuing this internship because: 1) I've always loved museums and the wealth of knowledge within 2) I want to see if the museum field is truly where I wish to point my life 3) If I do continue down this line will I pursue curatorial services or educational services (the internship will give me a taste of both). 4) Museum workers and historians seem to live longer (along with librarians), therefore I wish to increase my odds of living longer. (Kind of tongue in cheek, but not completely) The problem I have is my college sponsor wishes for me to have a book to go along with my experience. I have no idea where to begin. Criteria: Under $100, survey level preferable. Replies can be sent off list. Thanks in advance, Christopher Reeves [log in to unmask] ---- I'm no Superman, but I get the job done. ========================================================= Important Subscriber Information: The Museum-L FAQ file is located at http://www.finalchapter.com/museum-l-faq/ .
