U.S. Forces did not take the bunker in Berlin but did get to the Eagle's Nest at Berchtesgaden. Maybe the location changed names in the telling as is apt to happen. If the man knows what unit the soldier was in, it might be possible to at least ascertain whether his unit could even have been in the vicinity.
