Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to: * Creates strategy for membership department, including establishing short- and long-range goals in cooperation with the Chief Marketing Officer to achieve institution membership objectives. * Implements individual and corporate membership acquisition strategies, such as direct mail, telefunding, on-site, and Internet membership programs. * Develops and maintains corporate membership program, developing benefit levels and coordinating benefits with other departments. * Sells corporate membership program, through direct mail and off-site presentations to potential member organizations. * Implements strategies for renewing annual support of current members. * Evaluates effectiveness of strategies, such as fee and membership category structures, services, materials, benefits, and policies relating to retention of current members and acquisition of new members, and recommends changes as appropriate to attain goals. * Processes new and renewed membership gifts and distributes member benefits materials. * Manages membership services, benefits, and policies. * Plans and directs membership campaigns. * Constantly researches, generates, and directs events and programs for members, both evaluating, modifying, and continuing existing events and creating new ones. * Researches membership programs at other institutions. * Prepares and manages membership program budget. * Produces membership lists for use in institution publications. * Visits or contacts prospective members to explain benefits and costs of membership and to describe objectives of museum. * Collects dues and payments for publications from members. * Speaks to members at meetings about available services. * Provides on-site information about institution and membership benefits to visitors. * Staffs membership booth at institution special events. * Performs other duties as required by management. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and promotional materials. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and vendors. * Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and budgeting. * Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability deal with several abstract and concrete variables when solving problems. * Ability to work weekends, holidays, and evenings as necessary.
