We have 3 older exhibits that we are retiring, free to a good home. They would all need refurbishment to some degree. Any one who is interested in taking them off our hands may have them free of charge. Transportation would be your responsibility. Wheels at Work is an exhibit that consists of six components: Pulleys, Gears, A Horizontal Water Wheel, A Vertical Water Wheel, A Weight Lifting Machine, and a Program Cart.
The two waterwheels require access to water and a drain for changing water periodically.
The exhibit requires a minimum of 500 square feet.
A 120 volt power feed from above is required to operate the Horizontal Water Wheel.
No lighting is supplied with the exhibit.
It is packed in 8 crates.
HOW MOVIES MOVE
How Movies Move is an exhibit that explains in non-technical terms, the phenomenon of persistence of vision and how people have employed this optical illusion in movies and such.
It consists of four stations: Thaumatropes (string twirling discs), Zoetropes(drums in which paper strips make moving pictures), Phenakistascopes (twirling discs with slots that make moving pictures) and a hand crank movie machine station.
The exhibit requires a minimum of 250 square feet.
One central 120 volt power feed from above is necessary to power the exhibit and its lighting. Additional lighting for graphics is necessary.
It is supplied in 4 crates.
WAVES AND VIBRATIONS
The Waves and Vibrations exhibit consists of seven stations explaining the fundamentals of periodic motion: a Pendulum Wall, a Wave Machine, a Very Small Waves Table, a Soap Film Waves Table, a Bubble Shadows Station, a Wave Patterns in Water Table, and a Bubble Dome Station.
The exhibit has 2 stations that are dry and 5 that require water or soap solution.
Each unit is supplied with its own specific task lighting. Additional lighting is required for text and graphics.
A 120 volt power feed is required for each station from above.
The exhibit requires a minimum of 750 square feet of floor space.
It is supplied in 12 crates.
