Reporting to the Museum Director, the Curator of Education will perform the following duties:
1. recruits, schedules, supervises and evaluates the visitor services staff of educators, guides, and volunteers.
2. plans and implements the Museum’s educational partnerships. These include programs with elementary, middle, and secondary schools, both public and private, and with child-based organizations such as the Boys and Girls Clubs, 4H Clubs, and Scouts. Includes development of new programs such as preservation trades training, adult classes at the community college level, and improved adult tours and special interest programs.
3. researches and produces education training and curriculum materials
4. act as staff liaison with the Education Committee to maintain meeting schedules, agendas, minutes, and correspondence.

6. working with other staff, develops departmental budgets, provides education input in museum interpretive planning, contributes to grant proposals, researches and writes articles for newsletter and educational publications.
7. coordinates educational special events such as teacher workshops, home-school days, grandparent weekends.
8. develops and implements outcome-based evaluations of educational materials and programs.
9. other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
College degree, minimum three years experience in educational programming, strong organizational and project management experience, clear communication skills, ability to juggle multiple priorities. Master’s degree or equivalent desirable.
