Special Events and Marketing Coordinator.  The Catalina Island Museum
has an immediate opening for the new position of Special Events and
Marketing Coordinator.  He/she will manage existing events including a
telethon, silent film benefit, dance and silent auction, and historic
home tours.  Coordinator will work with Board and staff to add new
events to the calendar. The Coordinator will also be responsible for
marketing each event, to include press releases, media campaigns, design
of mailings, etc.



The position reports directly to the Executive Director and works
closely with the Board and its Development Committee.  The Coordinator
will take leadership of all special events for the Museum, bringing
creativity, energy, patience and humor to a close-knit, team atmosphere.
Highly developed communication skills (both verbal and written) are a
must for the position as are adept interpersonal skills.  Candidates
must be organized multitaskers with previous experience in coordinating
and marketing events. Desktop publishing skills a plus. The Special
Events and Marketing Coordinator will be an important part of the
financial growth of our institution as we look towards expansion of our
facility in the future.
