workshop sessions. Listen as NH
Furniture Master David Lamb shares his perspective on Ohio Shaker furniture
design and as Dr. M. Stephen Miller discusses the communal characteristics of
Shaker woodenware from New Hampshire. This event is held in conjunction with Willis
Henry Auctions Inc.’s annual Shaker auction hosted by Canterbury Shaker Village on October 10.

Workshop Presenter David Lamb has built an international reputation as one of the most accomplished
cabinetmakers in the United
States. He was raised at Canterbury Shaker Village and
apprenticed to European Master Cabinetmaker Alejandro de la Cruz. He was trained at Boston University’s
Program in Artisanry and is a founding member of the New Hampshire Furniture
Masters Association.
Workshop Presenter Dr. M. Stephen Miller
is a dental specialist (periodontics) who has
collected and studies various aspects of Shaker industries for more than 25
years. Dr. Miller has lectured on Shaker
subjects from Maine to Mexico; he has published numerous periodicals and has served as editor for half
a dozen books including The Shaker Image- Second
and Annotated Edition (1994) and all four volumes of Guide to the Library Collection …at Hancock Shaker Village (2001-2003).
