Could you share any responses with the list and/or myself. I'm curator of a fire museum housed in an 1894 fire station -- complete with horse stalls for the fire horses. We've got a couple of rather empty looking "hayloft" windows above the stalls that I have been meaning to fill. The "hay" for my application won't be touching any artifacts, (so it doesn't nessecarily need to be "archival hay" isf there is souch a thing *grin*) and it'll be fairly high-up (about 10 or 11ft off the ground) so it doens't need to hold up to close inspection.
I have been thinking about making some bales out of plywood/chipboard and either painiting them or gluing on a fine coat of that crinkly shredded paper used to fill Easter and gift-baskets.
Anyone have any other ideas?
