At a time when our attendance is declining, we've raised our admission fee
and are tacking on a surcharge for some temporary exhibitions as well.  I
see this as suicidal, although several of my colleagues disagree.  One of
the big concerns from those who oppose reducing or eliminating the admission
fee is theimpact on our ability to recruit and retain members.  (Free
admission is a primary benefit.)  What experience have others had?
