Upper Midwest Conservation Association Presents The Care and Preservation of
Agricultural and Industrial Machinery and Equipment

 

 

This workshop is offered to collecting institutions and individuals with
antique agricultural and industrial equipment collections.  Participants of
this workshop will receive training from Malcolm Collum, a nationally
recognized expert on the care of agricultural and industrial equipment.  Mr.
Collum is a conservator with the Henry Ford Museum & Greenfield Village, one
of the largest museum collections in the U.S. HHH

 

 

The workshop will include a lecture, discussions, demonstrations and
hands-on practice covering the multitude of issues for the preservation,
conservation, storage and exhibition of these complex artifacts.  The
differences between preservation, conservation and restoration will be
thoroughly discussed and evaluated in an open forum.

 

This workshop will be held at the Olmsted County Historical Society (OCHS)
in Rochester, MN on August 27-28, 2004. The OCHS has a large collection of
agricultural and industrial artifacts that will be made available for
discussion and use during the workshop.

 

The fees associated with this workshop are $195 for UMCA institutional
members or $245 nonmembers.  Discounted fees are available to institutions
with budgets at or below $50,000.  Institutions at this level who are UMCA
members pay $50 per day, nonmembers pay $75 per day.  Currently enrolled or
preprogram students pay $35.00 per day.
