My suggestion is to contact a labor lawyer on this issue. If you were compensated for developing the plan on gallery time, my understanding is that the intellectual property is the gallery's.
If you are a volunteer, the field is less clear, but the situation would benefit from legal counsel, for your and the gallery's protection.
