Our museum has a huge collection of film negatives, from 35
mm to large format. We currently use traditional darkroom methods to
reproduce photos from negatives, and while we don’t have any plans to
discontinue the art of darkroom work, we do want to stick our big toe in the
digital pond. So I’m on a fact-finding mission. I would like
to hear from anyone who uses film scanners to reproduce a photograph directly
from the negative: what type/brand of scanner you use, what your
experiences are with it, etc.
Thanks in advance for your insight.
