The Mary Baker Eddy Library for the Betterment of Humanity is looking for a Copyright Assistant Intern (non-paid position) to begin training 2-3 days per week for the month of August and to start the internship opportunity full-time (3-4 days per week, 15-20 hours) beginning September, 2004. The internship assignment will end on January 1, 2005.
Under the supervision of the Copyright Administrator, the Copyright Assistant Intern will:
· Perform database entry and file management of multiple permissions and licenses
obtained and granted
· Help catalogue photos from photo database and possibly some video content
· Handle administrative tasks for the copyright group such as processing invoices, check requests, faxes, emails and letters; provide routine answers to inquirers or refer to others as appropriate and follow up on outside requests for information or content
· Handle routine internal and external permission requests as directed by Copyright
Administrator
· Assist Copyright Administrator in reviewing back permissions and files for creation of intellectual property database and assists with archiving those files
Internship Requirements Include:
Education/Experience: College degree plus proven office skills.
Knowledge/Skills: Demonstrated experience with databases, spreadsheets, and computer
packages such as Microsoft Office, Excel and Outlook. Familiarity with Portfolio
Extensis photograph catalogue highly desirable. Some experience with intellectual
property rights as it relates to publishing, helpful.
Qualities/Traits: Attention to detail and follow-through. Service-oriented, team-oriented, and ability to remain calm under competing pressures and deadlines. Ability to discern when issue is unique or complex and should be brought to the Copyright Administrator's attention. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
