Put them in a freezer. Leave for 48 hours and then remove for 48 hours. Then put them back in for another 48 hours. This should kill any infestation. After the final 48 hours, use a natural bristle paint brush to sweep the dust into with a low suction vacuum cleaner.

We do this annually for many of our wool and silk items which are on exhibit. It saves money from having to call exterminators, as well as preventing there being a large problem in the future.

"They have found carpet beetles on the two
Willie mascot heads and on the wool Queen's cape. They have called an
exterminator who has treated the rooms.

Their question is what do they do for the fur on the mascot heads."
