While researching for my wedding boquet I discovered that you can have them freeze dried.  According to the source I read (this was last year so you may have to do a web search) the process leaves the flowers less brittle than traditional drying, making them last longer.  Some florists sell their flowers freeze dried ahead of time to make them last.
