Hello All, I am interning at a small history museum in Idaho Springs, Colorado. One of my first tasks for the summer is to find a reasonably priced, easy to navigate, desktop/hard drive based collection management software for their collection, which consists of approximately 3000 photos/glass negatives, approximately 50 textile pieces, the archive from the town paper, the archive of the city records, miscellaneous minerals, and mining and ski industry equipment. They do not have a server or network capabilities, so this will have to be a system that can operate on a single laptop computer to be transported between their visitor center museum and the living history museum downtown, without multiple licensing agreements, and ease of use for the mostly volunteer staff to transfer all their paper accession records to. I would love to hear your suggestions!
