Would you believe I have an article (and adorable photo!) tacked up in my office about Cuddles, the first guide horse in the US? The article reads (sorry, I have no source, but it was within the past 2 years or so): "The skills of a miniature horse named Cuddles deserve mention. At 24 inches tall and 55 pounds with a chestnut-color mane, Cuddles is the first guide horse for people who are blind in the US. The two year old lives in Maine with owner Dan Shaw, who has retinitis pigmentosa. She was trained by Janet Burleson, founder of the Guide Horse Foundation (http://www.guidehorse.org), a nonprofit whice has about 80 people on its waiting list." Kim Kenney ===== Kimberly A.
