Program and Exhibit Director

The National Museum of American Jewish Military History, a Congressionally chartered museum located near Dupont Circle in Washington, DC, and affiliated with the Jewish War Veterans of the United States of America, is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Program and Exhibit Director.  Incumbent will actively participate in institutional planning, identifying, and implementing strategic initiatives, and represent the governing board to public and professional constituencies.  Successful candidate will direct the development and delivery of all public programs of the Museum including exhibits and educational programs, and direct development and fundraising efforts.  The successful candidate will possess 3 to 5 years experience in public programming management; possess a Master’s Degree in History, Museum Studies, Political Science, Public Policy/Administration, or other closely related field.  Equally important is a demonstrated record of accomplishment in a museum or cultural institution.  Need to possess good communication skills and be able to work with a diverse audience.  Salary commensurate with qualifications.  Excellent benefits.  Send letter of application with resume to: Larry Richardson, Director of Operations, National Museum of American Jewish Military History, 1811 R Street NW, Washington, DC 20009, fax 202.234.5662, email [log in to unmask].
