Textile Museum seeks Education Program Coordinator

Education Program Coordinator. The Textile Museum, devoted to the preservation, study, and exhibition of handmade textiles, seeks an energetic and creative educator to plan, develop, and implement public programs for adult and family audiences.  Annual programming includes a rug conference and a family festival; exhibition-related programming can include lectures, symposia, family programs, demonstrations, etc. Additional responsibilities are tour scheduling, coordination and supervision of 30 Program Volunteers, and maintenance of The Textile Learning Center, a hands-on exhibition space. Tues-Sat schedule.  Requirements: experience in program planning and museum education; excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong organizational skills; computer literacy.  Preferred: knowledge or and/or familiarity with textiles and textile techniques; advanced degree in museum education, art education, or related field.  Salary: upper-$20s with excellent benefits.  Send cover letter and resume by Feb. 20 to Director of Education, The Textile Museum, 2320 S Street, NW, Washington, DC, 20008-4088 or fax to (202) 483-0994.
