You can download eBase, which has (or at least had) FileMaker as its
underlying architecture from
http://www.ebase.org/

The software is free; support costs a fee.  Very, very basic, but you get
what you pay for ; )

Another program suitable for the Mac is GiftMaker Pro from Campagne Associates
