Vice President/Director of Programs Minnetrista Minnetrista, East Central Indiana's Center for Natural and Cultural Heritage, is a 15 year-old institution located on a bluff overlooking White River and downtown Muncie, Indiana. Its mission is to create awareness, understanding, and appreciation of the natural and cultural heritage of East Central Indiana, a region of 500,000 people. Minnetrista creates exhibits, programs, distance learning, school tours and publications. The Minnetrista Heritage Collection includes 15,000 objects and extensive archives. Its 35-acre campus includes 8 major buildings, historic homes and extensive public gardens. In addition, a 6-acre Nature Area supports environmental education for children and adults. Minnetrista has 65 employees, 444 volunteers and more than 1,100 members. With strong ongoing financial support, its annual operating budget is 3.4 million dollars. Minnetrista seeks nominations and applications for qualified candidates for the position of Vice President/Director of Programs. Incumbent will actively participate in institutional planning, identifying and implementing strategic initiatives, and represent the President & CEO in select collaborations. Incumbent will direct the development, delivery and evaluation of all public programs including exhibits, educational and interpretative programs. Reports directly to the President & CEO and leads a full-time departmental staff including an exhibit coordinator, a naturalist, two educators and a lead interpreter. Emphasis is on creating an integrated program which balances themes (the natural and cultural heritage of East Central Indiana) and audience interest (teachers and schools, adults, and children and families). Qualifications Requires a bachelor's degree in a related field as well as seven years' working experience in public program development and delivery. Must have experience in the museum environment with at least three years' experience in a senior management position. Must have excellent people and communication skills. Able to manage multiple priorities. Strong leadership, management and delegation skills. Able to work with creative people and diverse audiences.
