I'm giving 5 stars to Linda Fairstein's "The Bone Vault." Written by a
former Manhattan prosecutor, this thriller revolves around a joint
exhibition by the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Museum of Natural
History, and provides lots of lovely scenes set in curatorial meetings,
storerooms, and exhibition galleries. It's a really good read, although
the scene when the investigator is shut into a basement storeroom in the
Natural History Museum and accidentally knocks over a specimen
jar...that knocks over another specimen jar...and on and on until the
entire shelf is broken, is cringe-inducing. Happy reading!
