The National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame in Fort Worth, Texas is searching for a Registrar/Collections Manager (R/CM) to be responsible for the care and management of the museum's collections and those objects in the museum's custody. This includes storage, record-keeping, shipping, and conservation. The R/CM processes outgoing loans from the collection (including packing, shipping and insurance arrangements) and reviews loan forms and makes arrangements for all incoming loans. The R/CM manages and maintains all documents relating to objects and the photo archives (including accession, deaccession, loan forms, condition reports, and rights and reproduction requests); establishes and monitors procedures and standards for the handling of art objects; maintains accurate records on objects' conditions and suggests those which are in need of conservation; and assists in monitoring and maintaining climate, security, and emergency preparedness. The R/CM is responsible for the photograping of collection objects (including digital imaging) for documentary purposes. The R/CM will also assist with research, development, and installation of exhibits. Graduate degree (in history, museum studies, or related field) and two years curatorial experience required.
