Assistant Theater Manager

The University of California, Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive=20
presents wide-ranging exhibitions and programs of visual art and visual cult=

The PFA Theater operates six days a week and offers more than 500 programs=20

Duties: The Assistant Theater Manager works closely with the Theater Manager=

to ensure the highest quality of presentation and experience for patrons and=
=20
guests. Assume full responsibility for managing the theater when the Theater=
=20
Manager is not present. Oversee the student theater staff, assist with progr=
am=20
set-up and break-down, work with programmers, and act as host and greeter. H=
elp=20
to hire, schedule, and train student staff and volunteers. Answer visitor=20
questions, and help resolve problems and complaints. Monitor the quality of=20
presentations. Maintain computerized ticketing system. Oversee security proc=
edures.=20
Supervise cash handling, and balance and record receipts. Maintain attendanc=
e=20
and other records and create reports. Perform general administrative duties.=
=20
Sell memberships and tickets to film programs.

Required Qualifications: Theater or box office experience, and film=20
background. Highly developed customer service, administrative, supervisory,=20=
and=20
communication skills. The ability to respond effectively to changing conditi=
ons.=20
Attention to detail. Familiarity with computerized ticketing systems, Macint=
osh=20
applications, and FileMaker Pro. Must be available to work evenings and=20
weekends.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience setting up microphones and other=20
technical equipment. California driver license.

Hours: This is a 75% position. The work schedule is evening shifts Saturday=20
and Sunday, varying with the exhibition schedule, and daytimes shifts Monday=
=20
and Tuesday.
Hourly Salary Range: $14.71 - $16.00, with an excellent benefits package,=20
including three weeks vacation, and benefits for specified domestic partners=
 and=20
family members. The actual salary will reflect the percentage of time worked=
.
