A museum shop or children's store may have small plastic Dino's or other small things you
can bury in the sand.  Also, inexpensive arrowheads.   You could also put plastic money
or real change, buttons, small toys (depending on what layers/era) you are trying to
achieve.

Have fun!

Subject: archaeology

I'm doing a family program on archaeology for Sept. (Archaeology month) We will have about 35 people mostly age 5-12. I'll do a sandbox dig but I'm looking for some type of craft/project that they could take home too. Also material on archaeology for this young a crowd any ideas? I do have some money I can spend on this event so hands on manipulative ideas would be good. Thank you
