breast feeding

At Port Discovery, the children's museum in Baltimore, we have some specific places for breastfeeding that our visitors seem to love.  One is a rocking chair in the toddlers space, some comfortable sofas strategically place in seating areas too.  Most recently, parents are beginging to favor a place not at all intended for that purpose, but it works, a new exhibit space called the Maryland Scenic overlook, looks like a rest stop.   Most women are very discrete (with small blanket) and others just lift a blouse and nurse.  No one seems to mind at all.

How do museum professionals get prepared ? Get at least one place, comfortable, intended for nursing moms.  Place it on the directory where you list family restrooms, first aid, and, and the like.  Note where baby changing stations are too!  Parents appreciate the consideration and will use it.  Then lighten up--its only natural.
