"Development Assistant"? We have a three-person development department: a Director, an Associate and an Assistant/Membership Manager. The last one is the least "senior" member and does pretty much exactly what you describe, except not marketing (although she is responsible for working with our 3-person marketing department and our public programs people to develop and implement promotions designed to increase membership or programs that are perks for current members). I also am involved with the annual fund, special events, programming, marketing, etc. I feel that my job is more encompassing than just membership. I had thought to change my job title to "Associate Development Officer: Membership" - to reflect growth in my job. I have been told by some, however, that yes indeed this is a higher title, and then by others, membership manager is better. Have you any opinions on this? In the future when another Museum professional is looking at my resume, I am not sure what would be best to have listed, and which could command more money. Thank you kindly in advance. Look forward to your thoughts. Sincerely, Kathryn Membership Manger?
