Dear readers,

I have been in the Museum world for several years now, and close to 3
years in my current position as membership manager of a mid-size museum.
I also am involved with the annual fund, special events, programming,
marketing, etc. I feel that my job is more encompassing than just
membership.

I had thought to change my job title to "Associate Development Officer:
Membership" - to reflect growth in my job. I have been told by some,
however, that yes indeed this is a higher title, and then by others,
membership manager is better.

Have you any opinions on this? In the future when another Museum
professional is looking at my resume, I am not sure what would be best to
have listed, and which could command more money.

Thank you kindly in advance. Look forward to your thoughts.

Sincerely,

Kathryn
