MPMA is looking for students to attend MPMA's upcoming museum conference in Golden, Colorado, October 7-11. Scholarship funding is available to those students attending a school in the MPMA region (Colorado, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oklahoma, South Dakota, North Dakota, Texas and Wyoming) The conference is a chance for students to present papers (see below for details and deadline) and meet professionals in the field. Respond to this email if you know of anyone - students or teachers involved in the training of museum studies and history students - who MPMA should contact directly. The conference is a GREAT vehicle for emerging leaders. OR . . . . . . . Pass along the following notice to students and teachers: CALL FOR STUDENT PAPERS: MPMA CONFERENCE The MPMA conference session "Gateway to the Profession" will feature paper presentations by museum studies and public history program students. Papers may address any aspect of program training, including research, internship, and applied projects. In order to propose a student paper for presentation, please submit the following: Administrator's name, institutional affiliation, and contact information; student's name and contact information; abstract of proposed paper and equipment requests. The session, which is co-chaired by Lorne Render, will be sponsored by ACUMG AND COMPT and will be followed by the ACUMG/COMPT meeting and luncheon.
