Specifically, students will be introduced to several learning theories and motivational strategies that can be applied towards the design of educational programs for museums and other non-profit organizations. This is an online course with supplemental texts. Many of the assignments will include online readings and activities. LEARNING OUTCOMES Students will: Upon completion of this course, students will: * Demonstrate an understanding of the roles that museums can serve in a learning community. * Accurately demonstrate an understanding of Behavioral learning theories, Social Cognitive Theory, Information Processing Theory, Cognitive Learning Processes, Constructivism, Motivation in instruction, and Content-Area Learning. * Complete the final project by successfully developing a mock instructional program for a museum.
