Hello Mr. McManus, There are a number of museums in the Ueno province. I had an afternoon at the Tokyo National Museum. I was impressed with the ceramics and bronze collections. The museum has an amazing collection of objects from the Yayoi and Jomon periods! Oh, and the examples of calligraphy are beautiful. Scrolls of the Tales of Genji were on exhibit when I visited. I lined up with lots of other visitors forming a single-file, slowly and patiently snaking around numerous showcases to take a look. There was no pushing, or elbowing, or crowding around but rather politeness and graciousness. I understand that you are seeking museum recommendations however I would encourage your CEO to visit as many temples and shrines as possible both in Tokyo and Kyoto. Although many in Tokyo were damaged during World War II they have been rebuilt which in itself is of historical interest. I especially like the Senso-ji-jinja in Asakusa. And in Kyoto, for example, as you walk down most streets you will find small entryways that lead to intimate courtyards and temples. Whether in Tokyo or Kyoto the temples are a sensory experience not to be missed. I would also suggest a visit to Kabuki-za while in Tokyo, and in Kyoto stop in at the Prince Hotel for tea and pastry!
